River Tay April 11th 2012

River Tay April 11th. Sunshine and showers all day long, hail too.
Low water exposing the ever changing sand banks.

These are beautiful pictures of the Tay. My distant family is from Newburgh and I spend a lot of time over the internet gleening information of what life was like for them. Can you share with me how far east of Newburgh that this picture was taken? One of these days I plan to visit and with sites like yours I will really feel like I am coming home.

Hi Lois, I often picture from this spot, there's a lay-bye one and half miles east of Newburgh. An historic place.

Thank you Peter,

Would that lay-bye be at Ballinbreich Castle ruins? My Google Earth skills are pretty rudimentary.

Hi Lois,
Exactly 1 mile as the crow flies from the Castle towards Newburgh. The ruins can be seen from the lay-bye with Dundee in the far distance.
